Magic in Trieste

White City. The opulence of the Austro-Hungarian palaces dazzles you at every turn. The people welcome you with the gentle kindness that has always distinguished this city, despite the passage of different peoples and its troubled history. You sit at a table and hear people speaking Italian, Croatian, English...
You pass by the ticket office with the sign near the entrance that reads, "Here's Altamura bread." From south to north. It encompasses the beauty of an open city. A traveler welcomed as if at home. You lose yourself gazing at Piazza Unità d'Italia from the end of the pier, illuminated by the night light and hundreds of blue lights; if they were white, they'd look like fireflies. And finally, the endless starry sky reflects in the blue waters of my beloved Adriatic...and maybe I saw a satellite 🤪😁 Or whatever it was, the gift of a fleeting moment of magic.
