On the road

A very recent crazy idea, a plane ticket bought in one breath, has its connotations.
Are you going to India? No, I'm going to Kolkata.
So simply, I decided to take Tatjana away.
It just happened. A backpack on our shoulders and off we go.
Kolkata.

It's not courage that drives me, but that gypsy madness I've always lived with, the desire to learn and continue to amaze myself.
The desire to reset everything, to feel hunger, to be moved by the allure of the unknown, the ancient, perhaps to sleep on a haystack, to not be afraid to see the suffering and pain of others, to be able to caress and lift them with a smile...
I could list a thousand other reasons why I'm leaving, related to everyday life, but I won't, I might be ungrateful to life which, in its difficult flow, has certainly been generous with me.
Every now and then I still see that seven, maybe eight-year-old girl in a photograph, when she comes out of the cinema with the wooden seats, hidden in a small town in the dark mountains of Montenegro, hand in hand with her mother, and with a face that came out of the screen and remained in her mind;
The beautiful bride in a red sari, adorned with jewels, with a gaze so deep that it managed to remain in the eyes of a little girl forever.
A recent exhibition by McCurry reawakened me, reawakening me with the expressive faces of those people, dressed with so much dignity and little else. And with their authenticity.
I have little baggage and little money, but together they will be enough to be able to offer my modest work to those in need, to bow to Gandhara, the future Buddha, to dive into the crowd in a show of illusionists and jugglers, and I hope to meet a Bengal tiger. I wrote her an email, she said she will wait for me.
And come back with a red sari in your luggage...
Don't fool yourself, not as a bride!
I'm ready to breathe and immerse myself in a different world, to steal a few shots to share with you, along with the emotions that will accompany me.
Lately I've been feeling alone in a crowd, not because I don't have people who show me how much they love me, but because I'm the one who feels alienated, incomplete...
My dear friend wrote to me;
Have a great trip, Tatjana. I hope you find what you're looking for...and even more!
I don't know what I'm looking for, but I feel like it will do me good, and maybe I can share the pleasure of this journey with someone.
Ps. I came back with a purple sari in my luggage...:))))) And with an extraordinary experience, full of joy and the desire to continue following and deepening the new paths discovered.
