In Montenegro with Taty

Updated: 7 hours ago
I will start exactly from where my journey in this life began, from my roots,
from my Montenegro, from Cetinje, the city where I was born, to continue with the wonderful Hinterland, all waiting to be discovered.
In 1991, the Montenegrin Constitution established Montenegro as the world's first eco-friendly state . A small country, a pearl nestled between imposing karst mountains and the Adriatic coast, it's a breathtaking blend of natural wonders with parks, virgin forests, Alpine peaks, cliffs overlooking the sea, the deepest canyons in Europe, mountains dotted with medieval villages, pristine lakes, and much more.

In my memories there is everything...
The Bay of Kotor is a fjord separated from the nearby ancient capital of Cetinje by Mount Lovcen with its splendid National Park ; Podgorica is a new and modern capital; the incredible Ostrog Monastery is carved into the rock and Durmitor National Park , a habitat for bears and wolves, is adorned with limestone peaks and glacial lakes; and then the Tara River canyon , almost 1300 m deep, Lake Skadar with Rijeka Crnojevic and Virpazar, places of natural beauty rich in flora and fauna perceived at every step; the Lipska Cave , a 2.5 km long underground wonder, Plav and Gusinje in the north of Montenegro with its lakes and the Prokletije National Park and the Ali-pasha hot springs,
Ancient fortresses located in dream locations, and countless ethnovillages perfect for those who love eco-friendly travel, cycling, and, above all, discovering unspoiled nature. Montenegro is my homeland. It's impossible for me to describe the marvelous landscapes, imbued with scents that remain etched in my memory. And even though I've been away for over 30 years, it's the country I know best, and where I return as often as I can, each time adding a new place to my memory. I hope there will be some of you who haven't yet visited these destinations, and that my words will spark your curiosity for these places, so full of pristine beauty and authentic humanity. In Montenegro with Taty.
